Behold: sword-swallowing, fire-breathing, genetically-varied mayhem! The wonders never cease within… the sketchbook. Of doom.
My husband and I are obsessed with Freakshow on AMC.
We fell into a pit of despair when we found out the first season only contained eight episodes.
Only eight episodes? What is this bullshit?
^ Sir Starling’s favorite is Morgue, the “shock artist” who does what are probably the most dangerous stunts on the show.
He sticks needles in his face, swallows billiard balls, and spent three years stretching out all the stuff inside his skull to be able to do the following:
I can’t decide if I’m more besotted with Brianna Belladonna (left), who eats light bulbs, breathes fire, and swallows swords; or little Asia Ray (right), who is still in the learning phase. (She does stuff with fire and swallows a sword in one episode.)
Asia is PRECIOUS. HER FAAAACE, YOU GUYS. IT IS SUCH A GOOD FACE.
But I think Brianna is literally indestructible and could probably fight crime if she wanted, so she wins.
Anyway, you all should watch this thing. It’s on demand, if you have that.
Watching this show reminds me of the series of freak show posters I did for my thesis, so I started doing more.
They aren’t, strictly speaking, of the characters themselves, just inspired by the vibe of the show.
Now my sketchbook is pretty much freak show haven.
I wonder if Coney Island is open this summer. Anyone in for a trip to Brooklyn?
