Sometimes I really enjoy taking scraps of paper, ripping them up, and then painting over them. It’s recycling, which makes me feel like an A-OK kind of person. Cutting up the pieces of paper also gives an underlying form I can work from if I want.
For example, I think this one wound up looking like Paul Giamatti, who I really like, though I can’t pinpoint any movie I’ve seen him in that explains it. He has a good face.
This image reveals the fact that maybe, just maybe, I drew these a while ago. This was originally a party decoration for Special K’s New Years party, until I decided it was way too ugly. This is one bloated, jaundiced, possibly-sepsis-infected baby. Tragic, really. This wasn’t the way I wanted 2013 to be. Instead I made these awesome party hat decorations. Being a harpy can be chilly in the winter. I like how she covers her neck but not, you know, her torso.
I got really pissed at the way this illustration came out, so I ripped it up.
